			Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue takes in dogs from Houston and Dallas-area shelters.  These little dogs have been abandoned by their owners for reasons ranging from "it was a gift and I really didn't want a dog," to "I just don't have the time anymore - I have a baby now," to "the dog is old, I just got a new puppy and it doesn't get along with the puppy," to "I'm moving and cannot take the dog with me (which states, exactly, don't allow dogs?)." The bottom line is that these dogs have been thrown away by the only person they loved - and one that was supposed to love them.  So, our process for finding them a new home is very, very comprehensive and thorough.  Don't expect to just tell us that you will provide a loving, caring home and expect us to turn a dog over to you.  It's no insult intended to you personally, but we've seen too many victims of those loving, caring homes to take anyone's word UNTIL WE GET TO KNOW YOU.  That's what our process is all about - getting to know you and how you will treat our little babies in a very short time. If you are not willing to provide us with enough information to make a decision, including completing a very, very detailed application, providing three reference letters from friends with dogs, providing a reference from your veterinarian AND allowing us to visit your home, DO NOT APPLY HERE.
