Buddy Harris is a sweet Lhasa boy who
was left at a local shelter. He had no chance of
adoption there because he was heartworm
positive. Treating heartworms is too expensive
and lengthy for shelters to treat so their only
hope of adoption is to be first taken into a
rescue group for treatment.

Update 11/05: Buddy is having a lot of
trouble walking and difficulty getting up, going
down steps, and was even holding up his back
right leg. He likes to lay pillows but can barely
get up from there. Our vet would like to have
Buddy get a myelogram to diagnosis if there is
an injury to his spine

Update 1/06: You all responded to Buddy's
request for help and we were able to have some
of the tests run on him. Fortunately, we ruled
out autoimmune diseases.

This leaves us with simple arthritis. SEVERE
arthritis. This week, we started him on
Adequan shots to see if we can resolve some of
the problem. We'll keep you updated as he
progresses. This is a drug that one of my
personal dogs started on about four months ago
and has had a miraculous impact on her ability to
walk pain free.
