CLAIRE

CLAIRE is another summer rescue from the Harris County
Animal Control Facility.  We received the call about Claire
because she had a horrible skin infection, caused by neglect most
likely, AND a huge hernia on her abdomen.

We brought Claire to our vet, had a complete exam, including
blood work.  Her blood work turned out excellent, so she had
surgery and is now on our "allergy buster" diet.  Her hair is now
growing back over the ugly, thickened skin and the skin is
softening.

As of November 25th 2004, through your generous donations, we
have been able to meet Claire's medical bill! Thank you donors!!!

This is Claire - a total mess -
when she was sitting for her
portrait at Harris County.
Claire's back side was horribly
thickened and black.  This typically is
caused by constant chewing and
usually attributed to allergies.
In this picture, you can
see Claire's hernia.
Luckily, it turned out
to be an old, non
invasive fatty hernia,
but we did have it
corrected.
She is now on a great diet
and supplements and the
hair is growing back nicely.

Forever Fosters are dogs that no one wants to adopt.  They
might be seniors and considered too old by most adoptive
families.  Some have terminal medical conditions and
consequently, no one wants to adopt them for that reason.

But we feel that they deserve a loving home despite their
problems.  So these special ones become "Forever Fosters."
This means that they live the remainder of their lives with
their foster family but in the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa
Apso Rescue "Forever Foster" program.  The foster family
provides a loving home for the little dogs to live out the
remainder of their lives.

But the little dogs need YOUR help with their medical bills.
Each of the "Forever Fosters" needs a sponsor for their
veterinary bills.
