Mercedes came to us as a puppy mill cast-off too
old to breed any longer. Now she finally has a chance to
be someone's cherished pet and know love, but she has
heartworms that must be treated in order for her to
survive. Giving her heartworm preventative would have
been such a small price to pay compared to the long
weeks of treatment Mercedes will have to endure.
