Mig Capers-This sweet little guy did not seem
to be very active when we got him we did not know
why until he saw the vet. This poor baby has three
narrowing discs in his back. He can barely move and
he cries when we pick him up to take him to the
bathroom. The vet is sending him to Gulf Coast to
see Dr. Abramson for a myleogram and back surgery.
Please be one of Mig's angels by helping with the cost
of his medical treatment.
THIS IS AN URGENT REQUEST - Back surgery is
one of those things that must be done quickly. We
need to schedule him for early next week to give him
the very best chance at success. Please help him! He
deserves to be pain free.
UPDATE 11-3-05: This is an even MORE URGENT
request. Yesterday, Mig had an appointment with the
surgeon who sent him home with a pain patch.
Unfortunately, Mig had a reaction to the patch and
was lethargic and vomiting. So, he now has no pain
relief. We absolutely must be able to do this surgery
ASAP now. And we need to have most of the funds
before we can commit to the surgery. The estimate
from Gulf Coast is $2800 for the myleogram, CT
scan and CSF analysis and another $2000 for the
evaluation, surgery and followup appointments.
UPDATE 11-7-05: Mig Capers, had his surgery
today and he is doing well. Per the vet, he had a
ruptured disc, which he had probably had it awhile.
She said lot of matter had shifted into the other disc
spaces making it appear that there was three disc
involved, but it was only one. They have great
confidence that the surgery was successful and Mig
will be soon be free of pain!
