PHOENIX was picked up by a Dallas-area pound.  He was a
flea-ridden, totally matted mess.  Once shaved, they found that he
was terribly emaciated.  

We took him into the rescue but for almost two weeks, could not
get him to eat well.  We had to put him on fluids and syringe feed
him in order to keep him alive.  He's starting to respond now and
we're hopeful that he will survive.

UPDATE:  10-01-2004  Phoenix is a healthy little boy now.  He has
gained enough weight to be totally out of danger.  Thanks all of you!

UPDATE:  11-26-2004  Thanks to our wonderful donors, we have
enough to completely cover the veterinary costs for Phoenix!

Forever Fosters are dogs that no one wants to adopt.  They
might be seniors and considered too old by most adoptive
families.  Some have terminal medical conditions and
consequently, no one wants to adopt them for that reason.    

But we feel that they deserve a loving home despite their
problems.  So these special ones become "Forever Fosters."  
This means that they live the remainder of their lives with
their foster family but in the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa
Apso Rescue "Forever Foster" program.  The foster family
provides a loving home for the little dogs to live out the
remainder of their lives.  

But the little dogs need YOUR help with their medical bills.    
Each of the "Forever Fosters" needs a sponsor for their
veterinary bills.
