Shih Tzu Rescue
SHEREE - Two of us went together one afternoon to the
pound to pick up a couple of shih tzu. As we walked by the last row
of kennels, we noticed a tiny matted lump of a dog laying quietly on
the floor. She was barely moving. We picked her up and saw a
horrible mass of mammary tumors. We decided then and there that
she deserved something better than dying in the pound in that
condition.
We also noticed an open sore below her eye. We later found out
that this was an abscessed tooth erupting through the side of her
face.
Thanks to the wonderful people who gave donations for Sheree, we
have been able to remove the tumors and take care of the abscessed
tooth.
Update 20 February 2005
Today Sheree crossed the rainbow bridge. Sheree was adopted
three and a half months ago by Linda, one of our volunteers. Her
time with Linda was short but Sheree was adored. Linda gave her
the warm home she had always deserved and Sheree crossed over
knowing she was dearly loved.

This is what Sheree looked like the day
we picked her up. The black spot on her
right "cheek" is dried blood from the
abcess erupting through the side of her
jaw.
This is Sheree's stomach. The huge
lumps are horrible advanced mammary
tumors. We suspect Sheree came from a
breeder - someone who didn't care
whether she was in pain as long as she
could continue to make puppies.
