Yesterday we got a call from the SPCA that
they picked up a dog in desperate need of our
help. One of our volunteers rushed down there
and picked up a very neglected little girl. We
had her immediately seen by our vets and it
turns out she is only an 18 month old puppy.
Her horribly infected skin could easily have
been avoided or controlled if only her owners
cared. She was diagnosed with demodex and
will begin treatment for it right away. She is
also very skinny only weighing 5 lbs and she
should be about 8lbs. Her next step in life will
be to clear her skin infection and allow her
hair to grow back while getting lots of love and
a good diet from her foster family.
