Shih Tzu Lhasa Apso Rescue
We were contacted by a women who had taken over the care of Patches.
He belonged to someone who was very abusive and frequently kicked
him.  He has such a terrible skin condition that he has lost large amounts
of hair all over his body.  He has scratched himself raw and is just
miserable.  His skin has become thick and callused.  This kind person
was afraid that the original owners might try to take him back and she
couldn't afford medical care for him either. So, she called us and one of
our volunteers rushed to the rescue.  Below are pictures that were taken
the first night
.
This is his ear.  You can see the
open sores and the skin that has
become thick and hairless.
This is the back of Patches' neck.
Again you can see that the hair has
fallen out and there are open sores.
Can you imagine how miserable this
must feel...and no relief offered.
This is what should be a cute
Tzu tail.  Look how much of the
hair has been scratched out.
You can see why we couldn't so no to this little boy.  We can see the
horrible condition he is in but we can't see the abuse that he also endured.
And what is amazing is that his little bald tail is still wagging.  After all this,
he is still a sweet boy who deserves to feel good again.  Our vets and our
volunteers have pledged to help him.
Our supporters are wonderfully generous and at times we receive more than we
need for the medical expenses of a specific dog.  Please indicate in the comments if
you would like us to refund your donation if we have already received enough on that
specific dog. Otherwise we will apply it to the medical bills of another needy dog.
