Newsletter and URGENT NEED Alert - April 26, 2004
(If this page does not display well, CLICK HERE)

Hello and welcome to our new newsletter.  We have received NUMEROUS requests
for more frequent updates on our little sick and adoptable babies and we certainly
want to keep you all happy.  So our newsletter will now focus primarily on updating
you on those that YOU have allowed us to save.

Have you ever wondered what a puppymill auction was like?  And why we are bound and
determined to remove as many little mop dogs from that type of horror?

UPDATE:  Teena - a sweet, four month old lhasa mix puppy.  After being
attacked by a large, well-known aggressive dog and having the right side of her face
ripped apart, Teena was left in her back yard TO ROT!!   And, in fact, by the time
they took her to a vet (5-7 days later) she WAS ROTTING - her wound was full of
maggots eating away at her flesh.  Teena is still in the intensive care hospital, but
she will live and she should make a full recovery.

We're anticipating needing at least $500 to help this little sweetie.  We WANT to
be able to help her.  Please

URGENT NEED!!!!!

Gabby - Gabby is a very sweet, very young lhasa mix who had a tumor eating away
the bone on her lower jaw.  She was turned over to us by another rescue unable to
afford the very expensive surgery to remove the affected bone.  This one was easy,
but very expensive.  Although we have received over $300 for her, we need another
$800 to pay off that vet bill.  We think she deserved to live.

Mickey - Another sad story.  We picked him up at a shelter in south Houston and
immediately noticed that he had a horrible odor in his mouth.  When our veterinarian
started to perform a dental, he had to stop - Mickey's teeth were so neglected, and
the jaw bone so infected, it had the consistency of "foam rubber."  We had to put him
on antibiotics for weeks before Dr. Robert Boyd, a canine dental specialist, dared to
perform the required surgery.  He did perform the surgery and we must say, it was
VERY successful.  But. we still need to pay off the very expensive surgery - we still
need $1100.  Please help.

I know we are asking a lot of you wonderful people that always open your hearts to
our little pups, but we have no choice if we are to continue to save their lives.
THANK YOU!
